Panama Canal Order
SRT Marine Systems plc (‘SRT’), a global provider of next generation integrated maritime domain and coastal surveillance and monitoring systems for National Coast Guards and Fishery authorities is pleased to announce that it’s em-trak Marine Electronics (‘em-trak’) subsidiary has received a contract to supply commercial AIS Class A transceivers to the Panama Canal.
em-trak is a wholly owned subsidiary of SRT and sells em-trak branded AIS transceivers to commercial and leisure vessels worldwide, directly online and through a growing worldwide network of over 1,200 dealers. The order for AIS Class A transceivers has been received via an em-trak local dealer. AIS Class A transceivers are IMO certified for use on commercial vessels and will be installed on tugboats and other official commercial service vessels operating along the Panama Canal to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
SRT’s growing transceivers division, is the world’s largest developer and provider of AIS transceivers, having manufactured and delivered over 350,000 devices to date. The division has three separate operating divisions: em-trak which provides em-trak branded products for commercial and leisure vessels direct to owners and via a network of dealers, Digital AIS AtoN Systems (DAS), which provides specialist AIS AtoN navigation and remote environment monitoring systems, and OEM & Module which provides customer customised AIS product solutions to marine electronics manufacturers wanting their own range of AIS transceivers for sale under their own brand.
